Hello 2023!

Happy 2023! I was kind of glad to really get back to some proper routine this week. With the whole working from home thing I find bank holidays hard. They used to be a bit of a welcome break from commuting, but I find with being at home I just prefer to be busy and in a routine,

Over Christmas I have felt a bit like me and my Dad are really on top of each other so on Tuesday it felt so good to be on my own for a whole day.  I'm really just not built for being with people all the time, and its been one of the things that I have found the hardest about changing to homeworking when Covid hit.

I haven't really thrown myself into the whole new year, new me thing, like I'm still in so many of my bad habits that I was in last year, that I really want to change this year. I'm not piling a load of pressure on myself though, I think it takes a  minute for us to all decompress from the craziness of December.

This week I have been really obsessed with the documentary 'My Old School'.  It's the story of a 30 year old Scottish man called Brian McKinnon who disguises himself as a 15 year old Canadian student called Brandon Lee to go back to his old school and get better A level results, to get another shot at medical school.  The story is told by Brian himself and his old classmates and teachers.  I was fascinated by the whole thing and how he pulled it off, and how everyone believed it.

Its been so good to have Home and Away back on UK TV screens this week too.  I love following and writing about the show, and I kind of feel like I have a limb missing when its not on.

I've been writing in my journal this week a lot too. I journaled solidly from 2015 to 2019 and loved it.  I sort of lost my way with it in 2020, and so I am determined to bring it back this year.

Have a good weekend xxx
